Fear Blocks The Blessings

Fear will not only keep us bound, but it will keep the Lord from blessing others through us, if we allow it to. See, the Lord has given each of us assignments to fulfill with the time that he has allotted us, and we are the only ones that can fulfill them in the unique way that he has designed us to. If we allow fear to keep us from doing that which we have been called to do, then the world will not reap the benefits of the blessings.

It’s mind boggling to me, honestly. To think that the Lord has an assignment for our lives that has the potential of impacting others is just beautiful. The problem is we forfeit that if we allow fear to keep us from pursuing it. Let me say that another way, the Lord cannot bless others through us, if we allow fear to stop us from doing what he calls us to do. Folks, there is a lot at stake!

I’m sure that you have heard the phrase, THE RICHEST PLACE IN THE WORLD IS THE GRAVE YARD. Why? Because there you will find books that were never written, movies that were never produced, businesses that were never launched …. due to fear! This is a BIG deal, my friends! Not doing the things we know we are called to do because of fear is  HUGE!!!

So what do we do when fear enters the equation? Well, we do “it” anyway!  That’s right, we face fear head on by doing the things we are called to do despite it. We acknowledge the fear, embrace it, seek the Lord, and DO IT! Each time we do, we get a little stronger. As we get stronger, facing our fears, become easier. This process will not only bless others, but it will help us to become all that we were created to be!

On that note, what are YOU not doing out of fear? What is that one thing that you know you are being called to do, but you are avoiding it because you are afraid of how you may look to others if you do? Perhaps you’re fearful of rejection or maybe afraid of failing. Do it anyway! Who cares what others may think or if it doesn’t work out exactly the way you think it should. The fact is, it will work out the way it supposed to, and you and many others will be blessed because of it!

I love you, guys! I hope that you have a wonderful Thursday and an even better weekend! I’ll see you here Monday and as always on Facebook -https://www.facebook.com/thefaithfilledtraveler/ until then. Blessings to all!

Set Free From Fear

What do you think is the one thing that fear robs us of the most? I believe it’s freedom. That’s right, if we are not careful, fear will keep us bound. It will steal time from our day, precious moments with those that we love, rest throughout the night, and it will compromise our health, if we let it.

I have not experienced fear to an extreme degree, but there was a time in my life where I would say that it had a pretty tight grip on me. I remember waking up in the middle of the night with knots in my stomach because of it. All sorts of thoughts would run through my head. That is, thoughts of worse case scenario, of course. Thankfully, the cycle ended once I reminded myself of the tool that I needed to use to combat it with…scriptures.

See, once I began to remind myself of the Lords word, little by little I was set fee of what was holding me bound. Each time fear would creep into my thoughts throughout the day, I would research scripture pertaining to it, write them down and reflect back on them, when needed. Over time, the episodes of fear became less and less, until one day they were gone.

Guys listen, the Lord did not die on a cross so that we would be held captive in fear. No, he died so that we would be set free! He gave up his own life for us so that we can live and live FREELY! Listen carefully to what I am saying. Let me repeat it .THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE DIED SO THAT YOU AND I CAN BE  FREE! This is great news, my friends! We are free and free indeed! And although fear my come, we do not have to allow it to settle in. Find peace in knowing that today!

I really hope that this message encouraged you in some way.  As silly as it may sound, I’m encouraged! The Lord has a funny way of encouraging me through my own writing, sometimes. He really does have a beautiful sense of humor. Doesn’t he?

With that, please feel free to leave a comment, PM or email me. I always love hearing from you guys. Otherwise, I’ll see you on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/thefaithfilledtraveler/ )  this afternoon and right back here tomorrow morning to finish up the blog week. God bless you, all!!!

Facing Fears by Redirecting Our Focus

How do you respond to fear? What is your way of dealing with it when it inevitably occurs?  If we’re honest, we have all been faced with it at some point in our lives, right? No one is exempt from fear. After all, it’s the bodies natural response to things that are dangerous to us both physically and emotionally. It helps us to act quickly to protect ourselves in potentially harmful situations.

But what about the things that are not necessarily “dangerous” ? An example of this for me would be the videos that I mentioned yesterday. Although creating them made me feel uncomfortable, doing them did not pose a direct threat to me. I just did not like the thought of talking to a  camera and sharing it with the world. For someone who struggles a bit with body image, it put me in a very vulnerable situation; although, I knew that the Lord was calling me to do them.

So, how can we positively respond to fear as such? What can we do when we know without a doubt that the Lord is calling us to do something, but we are afraid of doing it? Perhaps you’re not totally afraid of doing it, but the thought of it makes you feel extremely uncomfortable. I firmly believe that the answer is taking the focus off of whatever “it” is and redirecting our focus on to him. In other words, look up!

See, I truly think that the Lord calls us to do certain things that we would not necessarily do on our own for 2 specific reason. First, so that we have to depend on him. Secondly, so that he can help us to learn and grow, ultimately becoming who he created us to be. It’s a journey, my friends.  This life and all that we are meant to be, is a journey. And its a beautiful one! Lets embrace it. The good….not so good….and everything in between.

Let’s be the type of people that do the things we are called to do even if it means doing them scared. Let’s commit to doing them by seeking him first! When we are called to do something that forces us out of our comfort zones, let us direct our attention to him, seek guidance, and do it! Are you with me? I sure hope so! Can I get an AMEN this Tuesday morning?!?!

Thank you guys for being here today. I’ll see you on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/thefaithfilledtraveler/ later today and right back here tomorrow morning! As always, any and all comments are welcomed & encouraged! Take care!

Facing Our Fears

Hi, guys! Welcome back! I am so glad that you decided to join me this cold Monday morning. I’m not sure what the weather is like for you as you are reading this, but it is a super cold 21 degrees here in north Texas. Let’s just say that there is a slim chance that I will be spending much time outdoors today. I prefer our warm cozy home, and I am certain that you would agree. Now, let’s jump in!

This week we are going to be talking about fear. I’m not sure if you have had a chance to watch the short videos that I have published once a week for the past 4 weeks on Facebook, but if you have, you know that the topic has been  fear. See, I have known for awhile that creating  videos was something that I needed to do, but I did not like the thought of doing them. That said, I made a commitment to myself that I was going to do them regardless. Now with a few weeks into it, the process has become much easier.

Once I decided to make the videos despite my fear, the Lord met me there. I believe this is the case the majority of the time. See, fear to me is a signal that we need the Lords help. The great news is that he is there each time. We are not alone. He doesn’t call us to do something that we’ve never done or something that we don’t like doing, without equipping us with the tools that we need to do it. Nor does he leave us in the process. I don’t know about you, but this is comforting to me.

So, is there something that he is calling you to do, but you are fearful of doing it? What about it makes you feel uncomfortable? If so, please share.  I am really interested in hearing your thoughts and ideas on this topic. Perhaps the 2 of us can face our fears head on together. One small step at a time. Please feel free to comment below, send me an e-mail or private message me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/thefaithfilledtraveler. Otherwise, I will plan on seeing you there later today and right back here tomorrow. I hope you all have a wonderful WARM Monday. See you soon!

Warmest regards,
