Be Open To The Blessings Around You

Hi, guys! Good Monday morning to each of you. I hope you all are rested up and ready for the week ahead. I, for one, am excited to start a new week. That is, I am excited to dive into this weeks topic, Keep Your Eyes, Ears and Hearts Open to The Blessings Around You.

Could we be so lasered focused on our own agenda’s each day, that we miss the multitude of blessings that surround us? Could the Lord be speaking to us through the people and things in our midst? I believe so. The picture above is one small illustration of this.

Over the weekend, John and I went out to take pictures for this weeks blog post. While I was in the process of capturing a few, I turned around to find John smelling the flowers on the tree behind me. Now, I realize that it is not the best photo, as I was trying to catch him in action quickly, but I believe that it gives you a good visual of the small blessings around us that we often miss in pursuit of what we are trying to accomplish.

See, my agenda for part of the afternoon was to take pictures of the beautiful trees near our home. I wanted to take the photos and move on to the next location. While doing that, John embraced the small blessings at hand. Not only did he enjoy the beauty of the flowers on the trees, but the smell of them also. Seeing him, reminded me to slow down and enjoy that which was right in front of me. That is, the blessings all around me.

In a world that seems to be moving faster than ever, we must make it a point to stop and “smell the roses”.  It is during times as such that we see and feel the Lord the most. Our father, the Creator of The Universe, is speaking to each of us all day, every day through the people that we come in contact with and the things that are in our midst. And it’s generally in the smallest of things that we have the potential to see him best.

So, today as you are going about your day, keep your eyes, ears and hearts open. Leave your home with a new pair of lenses. As you do this, he will show you more. Your vision will become clearer and clearer. I guarantee it.

Have a great day, everyone! I’ll see you here tomorrow morning and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/thefaithfilledtraveler/ , later today. Make it a great day, my friends!!!

Warmest regards,

Salina Watson
